Now the ancient Greek men had a lot of different responsibilities and they also had very prominent roles. For starters, they were clothed differently. Now their clothes were called chitons.
These chitons were like long pieces of cloth which were rectangular in shape, really long and it also had holes where the arms, as well as the head, could fit in. these were either made of wool or of linen.

Now, you might have seen some Greek statues which show off shouldered chitons and some of the ancient Greek men used to wear, off shouldered ones. If it was really cold outside, then the men would carry a woolen cloak or even a blanket. Also if they were going to fight a war they would carry the blanket.

Now, most of the male in ancient Greece went without sandals or anything, simply barefoot. Those who wore shoes wore leather sandals. Another interesting fact is that the chitons of the ancient Greek men were decorated according to the status which they help in the society. If the man was very rich, then he would have the nicest and fanciest chiton, with a lot of decorations.
Ancient Athenian Men’s Jobs
Now the male were usually the ones who were in charge of the entire family as well as the entire household. Now, most of the men were businessmen or even farmers, who would work the entire day, so that they could get money for their family and also food. Hence when they would return home, they were shown a lot of respect by those who stayed at home.
Now even when it was dinner time, the ancient Greek male would lie on the couch and eat their dinner, while their servants entertained them and they were even fed by the servants at the time.
The women and the children of the household had to eat in a different room. Since the men were the ones who had gotten all of the responsibility, they were also respected a lot. Hence they were given the best things and treated with utmost respect in the family.
