Ancient Greek Letters and Alphabet
The Ancient Greeks played an important part in the development of the alphabet. The first two Ancient Greece letters are – alpha and beta – have given us the word ‘alphabet’. They changed the Phoenician alphabet a bit to suit themselves. They added vowels. The Greek alphabet was the first alphabet to include vowels.
