Archimedes was a highly intelligent mathematician in ancient Greece. Apart, he was also an inventor, physicist, engineer as well as an astronomer. He designed a machine, called the Archimedean screw, which could make water flow uphill.
His designs are the backbone behind the formulas used for machines worldwide. He is regarded as the greatest mathematician ever known to man. No student of Mathematics will be unfamiliar with Pythagoras who is famous for his Pythagorean theory.
